California CE Requirements for License Renewal

As a nurse in the state of California, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). To assist you in meeting your state’s continuing education requirements, we have added links to related topics. Please ensure that any activity meets the requirements of your state board of nursing.

Renewal Requirements

RN

• Every two years
  • 30 hours of continuing education 
  • 1 contact hour related to implicit bias (within 2 years of licensure)

LVN 

• Every two years
  • 30 hours of continuing education

Advanced Practice

• Every two years
  • 30 hours of continuing education
  • 1 contact hour related to implicit bias (within 2 years of licensure)
