New Mexico CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of New Mexico, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). To assist you in meeting your state’s continuing education requirements, we have added links to related topics. Please ensure that any activity meets the requirements of your state board of nursing.
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education
LPN
- Every two years
- 30 hours of continuing education
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- Certified Nurse Practitioner
- 50 hours each renewal
- 30 hours of continuing education for licensure as an RN
- Certified Nurse Practitioners or Clinical Nurse Specialists with DEA registration
- 50 hours of continuing education
- 30 hours of continuing education for licensure as an RN
- 5 hours related to the practice specialty
- 10 hours in pharmacology related practice
- 5 hours in the management of non-cancer pain
- Certified Nurse Practitioners or Clinical Nurse Specialists without DEA registration
- 50 hours of continuing education
- 30 hours of continuing education for licensure as an RN
- 10 hours related to the practice specialty
- 10 hours in pharmacology related practice
- CRNAs with DEA registration
- 5 hours in the management of non-cancer pain
