Medication Safety: ISMP Guidelines for Optimizing Safe Implementation and Use of Smart Infusion Pumps (2020)

The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) established organizational policies, procedures, and practice guidelines regarding the use, education, assessment, monitoring, and maintenance of smart infusion pumps. The guidelines were developed by a wide variety of representatives from professional organizations, as well as pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and biomedical engineers.
