Tennessee CE Requirements for License Renewal
As a nurse in the state of Tennessee, you are required to earn continuing education to renew your active license. All of our CE activities are accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Please ensure that any activity meets the requirements of your state board of nursing.
Renewal Requirements
RN
- Every two years
- 5 hours (10 hours if not currently practicing)
LPN
- Every two years
- 5 hours (10 hours if not currently practicing)
Advanced Practice
- Every two years
- 5 hours (10 hours if not currently practicing)
- 2 hours to address controlled substance prescribing practices, including the Tennessee Chronic Pain Guidelines, for APRN with Certificate of Fitness
- 20 hours on the risks, complications and consequences of opioids addiction for high-risk prescribers
